Our Heritage
The Santoni Family
Since 1931, The Santoni family has been a local source of quality groceries, fresh produce and baked goods to Baltimore homes. That tradition continues today with a commitment by the third-generation family to provide the highest quality food by the most attentive staff.
Our heritage began when our grandfather Savino, grandmother Yolanda, and Pop’s brother Terzo, opened a store in the back of their East Baltimore home during the Great Depression.
The company moved to a row house in 1943 where two of the four sons, Bob and Paul, developed an interest in the family business. In 1972, when Pop Santoni retired, Uncle Bobby and Uncle Paul took a small neighborhood store and grew it into a successful company.
In 1986, Santoni’s of Glyndon opened with the help of our Aunt Gini and Uncle John Neubauer. Reminiscent of the tradition of our grandparents, the market incorporated a bright, clean, and cheerful store where customers would be called by name. At that same time, Santoni’s Catering was founded and has grown to one of Baltimore’s Top Caterers – thanks to the many customers who have helped us achieve our growth.

Santonio just did my 49th Birthday cake yesterday. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Everyone wanted to know who had made it. FYI-Half vanilla, half chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. From a half sheet for 36 people we have one slice left!
I have been there twice and each time it was a great experience, friendly clean. I just totally love the atmosphere, and I am coming all the way from middle River.

The best deli, the best bakery, the best sushi, the best catering. They're just good about everything. Each Saturday (Spring to Autumn) I buy a 3 pack of Pit Beef (Medium Rare) and I usually have one that day and freeze the other two for later in the week. You get chips and drink included and all the fixings, onions, BBQ sauce, horseradish, etc. Mouthwatering and can't be beat!
Thanksgiving and the holidays in general are hectic. Mom is 89 years old and all my kids are scattered to the four winds. This year instead of trying to get a meal together, I went to Santoni's and ordered the meal for five. I added some extra sweet potato and the whole meal was so absolutely perfect. No sweat, no fuss, and no mess. One granddaughter made it to our meal and she was able to take food home and make plates for her roommates. I am privileged to live down the street from this fine deli, supermarket and catering firm. Great job!
